Amazon has announced the release of a new generation of the Fire HD 8 line of tablets, designed, according to the manufacturer, for the whole family. The lineup includes the “all-new” Fire HD 8 and its Fire HD 8 Plus variant, as well as the Fire HD 8 Kids Edition tablet.
Measuring 202 x 137 x 9.7mm, the Fire HD 8 tablet is powered by a 2.0GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM. The device is offered in versions with 32 GB and 64 GB of flash memory. It can be expanded with a microSD card up to 1TB. In addition, unlimited cloud storage is available to the user for free for Amazon content and photos taken with Fire tablets. Without recharging, the tablet works up to 12 hours. For charging, which takes no more than 5 hours, a USB-C port is used. The tablet is equipped with an eight-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.
The device provides access to millions of movies, TV shows, songs, e-books, magazines, apps and games – everything Amazon offers, including through paid subscription services. It supports Alexa and communication apps.

Tablet Fire HD 8 Kids Edition, according to the manufacturer, is “created from scratch for children.” It is also built on a quad-core processor running at 2.0 GHz and equipped with an eight-inch display. The amount of flash memory is 32 GB. There is a slot for a microSD memory card up to 1 TB. On a single charge, the tablet works up to 12 hours, and the USB-C port is used for charging. Includes a case with a new adjustable stand and a one-year subscription to Amazon FreeTime Unlimited. On Amazon FreeTime Unlimited, kids can find a wide variety of age-appropriate books, audiobooks, educational apps, games, and videos.
